The Workshop of Energy Efficient Steam Management and Gains in Textile Sector that is coordinated by BTSO Energy Efficiency Centre, was organized by the cluster that support activities of energy efficiency on June 28, 2018.

The Workshop of Energy Efficient Steam Management and Gains in Textile Sector that is coordinated by BTSO Energy Efficiency Centre, was organized by the cluster that support activities of energy efficiency on June 28, 2018.

The workshop organized by BTSO Energy Efficiency Centre and sponsored by Bosch and Ayvaz Companies brought the important names of business and academia together in order to consume less energy in the textile sector and increase competitiveness of the textile sector. BUTEKOM - Bursa Technology Coordination and R&D Centre hosted this workshop that was attracted intensive attention by participants. There were 3 sessions in this workshop called 'Steam Generation and Management in High Quality', 'Energy Efficiency in Steam' and 'Energy Recovery and Control in Steam’. 

A FIRST IN TURKEY

Mr. Ramazan Karakök said that Energy Efficiency Centre serving under MESYEB serves the business world in the fields of training, training, measurement, consultancy and energy management systems. Energy Efficiency Centre is the first accredited “energy measurement laboratory” in Turkey and has carried out important studies in order to increase the sectoral awareness on energy efficiency, as well as the textile sector and the organizations they have started would continue by conducting meetings in different sectors.

DOCUMENTATION FOR TEXTILE SECTOR

Mr. Ramazan Karakök gave information about activities organized by MESYEB, and stated that MESYEB has achieved great growth and become the biggest one since it was founded 3 years ago. Emphasising that this centre is a pioneer one when compared the other 160 documentation centre in Turkey thanks to its authorization of documentation and examination for 64 professions, Mr. Karakök said “In addition to 64 professions in line with the demands of our business world, we started to expand the scope of the centre to gain more authorisation in 13 professions, including professions regarding textile sector. Within two months we will begin to provide examination and certification services for the textile sector.

EFFICIENCY MUST BE INCREASED

Mr. Mustafa Uysal stated that Energy Efficiency Centre is an important project that was put into practice by Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry so as to teach companies on energy efficiency and said “Bursa, as the pioneer city on green industrial practices has raised awareness on energy efficiency thanks to Energy Efficiency Centre. All industrialists who would like to reduce energy intensity and expenses must take the advantages of Energy Efficiency Centre’s services. Mr. Uysal said that energy efficiency is an economiser before anything else and stated that energy efficiency is an application that allows us to be successful in many fields. It provides significant achievements in terms of financial gains, the country's interests and the environment. These achievements will also increase energy efficiency practices if we can teach our companies how they us energy efficiency management systems.”

MORE THAN 100 MEASUREMENT REPORTS

Mr. Canpolat Çakal, Manager of the Energy Efficiency Centre of BTSO said that this workshop was the first comprehensive meeting organized within Energy Efficiency Centre to raise awareness on energy efficiency in textile sector.  Mr. Çakal gave information about energy efficiency and the Energy Efficiency Centre and said: “The measurement phase is the most important stage of energy efficiency. It is not possible to manage efficiency without measuring. The centre that has the first and unique laboratory accredited in Turkey provides services to perform measurements on the international scale. We have prepared more than 100 measurement reports within our activity period.”

THREE DIFFERENT SESSIONS

Following the opening speeches, sessions were held during the workshop on Quality Steam Production and Management. Assoc. Prof. Dr.  Ziya Söğüt; the secretary-general of ENVENDER Mr. Ozan Yılmaz working for Bosch Industrial Boilers gave information about steam boilers and equipment during the workshop moderated by Mr. Ziya Söğüt; Mr. Hamit Mutlu, Bursa Representative of Turkish Installation Engineers Association gave a speech on ideal steam installations and effective mechanical project design. Mr. Tarık Güner, the representative of Ayvaz company took the floor and gave information about efficient steam management in textile sector. In the scope of all-day-long workshop, important information was also given for the participants by making technical presentations.
